Will an 3" dia 88NA cat back fit an 88 T2
Hello All,
A friend of mine wrecked his 88 NA and asked me if I wanted to buy his custom 3 inch Mozart cat-back exhaust system. It was made to bolt right up to his stock main cat. Does anyone know if there are measurement differences from the main cat on back that would make this system not fit on my 88 T2.
Thanks
Douglas

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
it should fit, however, the mufflers are more restrictive on the NA than the turbo due to the added noise reduction that a NA requires.
I am assuming you also mean a Monza not Mozart exhaust. Either way make sure he has the steel wool mufflers, not the glass packs, as the glass stuffed mufflers tend to burn out pretty quick on a rotary car.

Still trying to decide
Thanks for the reply Icemark,
Its actually a custom made, mandrell bent, all stainless steel system. Its a higher flowing system than most any NA would ever need (even if it was bridge ported).
The mufflers used are Konig-Mozart mufflers(I know, the ones that all the rice burners use ), but they are the all stainless steel cased, stainless steel wool packed ones that they make.
Here are the ones on the system:
http://www.konigwheels.com/catalog_p...ULLET%20SINGLE
They are the big ones, the 3" S.steel Bullet Muffler with 5" dragger Tip. Its a streight through design.
They sounded really nice (deep, low, and mellow) at idle. But I am a little worried about how loud they will be at highway cruising speeds, he claims that they aren't loud at all. I hope my head won't implode from the noise. I don't think so though.
Like I said, the design looks like a good high flow system. Its not a name brand like GRetty, but the price is right, and if it lasts 3 to 5 years then all the better.
I admit I don't really know much about the Mozart stuff other than what I read off their brosure and web page, so if anyone out there has had some experience with them (in their cars or in a friend's rice burner ), then I would like to hear about it.
Thanks Again,
Doug
