"wiggling" the brake line off the strut..bs

Hey I have kyb agx struts and I'm trying to get started on installing my new urethane bushing kit. It will be easier to get this all done with the damn strut off..I looked in the haynes manual and it said remove the clip...(done)..then slid the brake lin off. Yeah well its not sliding off. I searched and people say they wiggled theirs off. Not working. It just looks too big to be removed. I was full force trying to pry it off but that wont work. Even used wd40..oh yeah I have braided steel brake lines if that matters.

First time I've had the front wheels off since I bought the car. Maybe I will file the struts bracket then..

it doesnt make sense....

if it went in, there must be a way to get it out.

maybe disconnect the line at the hardline or at the caliper and slide it out.

just remember to bleed your brakes when you're putting it all back together.

I think you just need to pull the brake line through the bracket so that the slot in the line for the clip lines up with the opening in the bracket. Then push the line through the opening in the bracket. If it doesn't come out with it lined up that way, use a wire brush to clean the area, and try again.

... c'mon guys.

The brake line is like this: ====|l=== that's the best I can do in text but it's just important to know that one side of the clip brace is smaller, so that it can go through the bracket. but once you pull the clip you can only move the brake line out of the bracket in one direction, i feel like I'm missing something about your post because this is really common sense. Anyway, so you wiggle the brake line just to make sure it's not stuck with dirt... then push the brake line bracer through the bracket (the side the clip was on is the smaller side btw), THEN you can remove the brake line from the bracket.

Is that the problem?

Oh it will move around in the strut arm thing. Just wont get out. I know one part is smaller and even so the small part doesnt want to go through the opening...

It will go through just work at it a little more. You may have to flex the hard line a little but it will go through. If you dont want to flex the hard line you can remove the strut and move it instead of the brake line but that's more work.
