Wierd stuff is happening......

I got an interesting thing to ask:

Occasionaly (abotu 50% of he time) I have this weird electrical problem that happens. Ever since the new alternator was put in this happens. When the headlights are on (most of the time, not all), my voltahe jumps all over the place. If I am ideling it is at the regular 12 volts, tadbit higher. However when ever I step on the gas, the voltage goes WAY up (to the max), and all lights get ALOT brighter. Also, when this happens, the oil pressure gauge goes up to 110 PSI. I know it is not that high, otherwise it would say it EVERY time I step on the gas. Anyone know what the HELL is going on here?

Mike

I'm no RX-7 expert but voltage output of an alternator is controlled by an internal voltage regulator which responds to battery output. Check the battery connection to the alternator for tightness. Check the plug on the rear of the alternator for corrosion or damage. Remove, clean and reinstall both battery connections. If the conditions persist return the alternator for replacement.

I would agree with JUST1QWK77's assesment, sounds like the alt's regulator is having problems or a bad connection.
