Check gas pressure to injectors. The fuel filter can be partially blocked, or the fuel pump defective. Getting spark does not indicate the spark is occuring at the proper time. Check timing. Last resort if all checks, check compression, The rotory requires a special compression testor of a procedur burried in the club archives.

i checked it and the fuel pump is good, the filter is clean, and there is pressure to the injectors

i dont know about timing and compression but it runs if you spray ether in it or prime it with gas but it wont stay runing on its own

Probably flooded.

Read the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this (the 2nd Gen RX-7) Technical section.

No offense man, but if it was flooded, why would squirting fuel into it make it run?

Are your fuel injectors clicking like they should be?

is the starter cranking.
it could be flooded. i had mine flood. it took 2 days to clear everything out even with fuel shut off switch.
take your plugs out. pull egi fuse. turn off your fuel pump if you have that switch installed.
clear out the chambers. let it sit over a few hours. clean your plugs a bit with carb cleaner. make sure they are dry. toss them back in. if you have a fuel switch. put your egi back in and try starting it. if you dont have a switch. have a buddy hover over your car ready to put the egi back in. crank it over a few times. then try putting the egi in or flipping your switch while you are cranking. it might start right up.

Try jumpering the fuel pump check connector. Sounds like you are not getting fuel.

I assume your ENTIRE intake system is intact from the AFM back, correct?

because of this comment:
spray ether in it
Ether/starting fluid evaps quick and helps clear flooding

The Primary fuel injectors are under the intake manifold. I doubt you could hear them clicking if the starter is turning the motor over.

Get a meter out (no bug light, please) and see if there is 12v on one wire of the secondary injectors. Secondary injectors are visible on the right side of the engine.

And, if the fuel pump check connector is jumpered and key to ON, can you hear the fuel being returned to the tank? NOt the pump running, but the fuel being returned to the fuel tank. As in splish splash.

Did you recently complete any major work in the engine bay that could have caused you to mix up the fuel lines, injector connectors, or anything else?

If this is just a random occurence, de-flood and move on with your life.

Mother of god.... If his injectors aren't clicking, and when he adds fuel it starts...... How, in Zeus's Butthole, can it be flooded?

You were off to a good start until you mentioned flooding.

Read BEFORE you reply.

I have a question for the pros... HAILERS, J-Rat, Aaron, etc...
When you pull the EGI fuse, do you still get spark? Just thinking that this is probably a fuse, wire-loose, or bad ECU.

well thanks for your concern guys but i found a runing s5 which is what i have and it has a turbo on it so im gonna change the whole thing

but that raises a second question: what would be better, like i said im new so i dont know a lot of termenology

would it be better to get a raised hood for the cooler thing or get the big radiator looking thing in the front?

i guess ill keep the old engine for parts...or a go cart lol jk

Hey i'm in ky too, if you need any help just ask. Not too far away.

http://rotaryresurrection.com/2ndgen...to_turbo2.html

That will help you if you want to do a turbo swap.

Also check out ludwig motorsports, he is a member on kyrotary.com and you can ask him questions about rebuilds and porting and engine swaps.

But to get it to run, check your fuses. I would put my money on that before anything else. Since it isn't a S4 the AFM doesnt turn the fuel pump on or off.
