Plastic is only found on the cheaper S5 models, and was part of a S5 cost cutting.

Sure if you have access to equippment and had access to a decent metal stock to cut your own, you could do that.

I'd also look to see if anyone makes end links for the NA (first gen Miata) as it used the same lame plastic links. Maybe you could use Miata links and be fixed for a cheaper amount.

Nothing on the S5 was done for weight cutting...

if weight was an issue why did most of thf S5 models drop the fancy german uberlicth jack???

Or the alum spares,

Or the delete the light weight carpet??? or the countless other things

S5 models didn't have weight cuts... they had cost cuts

I run these front and rear on my s5 t2, they work fine with a bolt through the middle that racing beat provides. They recommend them for s4 and s5.

Maybe you missed the part where they are also adjustable, have polyurethane bushings, oh, and they are adjustable, did I mention that they are adjustable?

The plastic end links tend to fail after a while... it is simply an age thing They were designed to last 100k miles and in most cases they do...

Unless you race, drive autoX, or drift... then they can fail at the most inopertune time... usually when stressed from cornering and suddenly they fail... causing the whole front end or back end to come loose... of course on a mountain road it would be fine if the rear end went sliding out right??? They do it all the time in Initial D.

But if the metal link never failed...

well which one is better???
