Question Why is my gas light still on AFTER I put gas in?

Well, I just put $10 in. Got 1/2 a tank's worth. Why is my gas light still on????????????? Thanks people.

your sensor could be bad......has this happened before?....the float in the tank could be not rising.....or worse case could be electrical.....

$10??? thats only 3 gallons in CA. No wonder your light is still on.

Actually I bet your gas tank is really dirty inside. when was the last time it was cleaned? Probably gunked up the sender.
