Because a decent turbo kit would cost more than most of us paid for our cars.

I can imagine a turbo kit easily going over $3k.... and thats more than what I payed for my TII already. Plus the TII's are lower comp...

Well, they did, but the demand dwindled once the TII came out. There are probably still some old Cartech turbo kits floating around on E-Bay.

The TII engine will fit your current tranny, although you may want to upgrade the rest of the drivetrain to the TII parts for the sake of durability. FYI you need to upgrade everything if you do, as just the tranny and LSD will not work with your current NA driveshaft, starter, clutch slave cylinder, clutch pack, flywheel, etc.

Oh yeah, I forgot that there are some remanufactured kits sold by various small vendors. Click on the "4Sale" button, then click on the "Turbo kits for..." button and select "86-91 Mazda RX-7 (N/A)"
http://www.hardcore-performance.com/index2.htm

Also, there is the Camden supercharger option:

you all missed the real reason

The true reason: because 4,000 n/a owners would say "count me in, i'll pay you when its done, for sure".......and then the guy would post here like what the --uf "4,000 said they were in, 7 paid"

Because:

1. There is already a turbo model
2. 99% of the people here would be very excited about a manufacturer making the kit, but then start a 10 page thread complaining about the price when it is produced
3. Related to the above, 0.001% of the people here would actually buy it

As far as I know, no one has ever bought the "Hardcore Performance" kit, and the whole thing sound suspect anyway.

I'll be happy to make you a "kit" that includes all the parts you need to mount the stock TII turbo on your NA engine, front mount the TII intercooler, etc. for about $2200 US. Supply your own turbo.

there are a few kits available, but none worth buying. Get a TII, it leaves a lot more room for hp/tq/mods out of the box.

if no one ever noticed the last time hardcore performance was updated was 10/03/2002. ive emailed them 3 times about the kit and never got anything back so im guessing their no longer in business.

i think Dave from FC3S.org is currently investing his time to make a kit for it. Should be worthwhile to look into it since he's made some good stuff and cheap.

I believe it comes out to a shorter life but more powerful, due to the higher compression rotors in the NA.

NA's have higher compression.
the turbo models have lower compression making them slightly easier to tune than a high compression turbo motor.
high compression+forced induction is a little trickier to tune correctly because it's just a little more sensitive.
