But that's not what the word "uncommon" means. A brand new Ferrari is readily available and easy to find (just go to a dealer), but they are hardly common.

That's because it is an FD unit, adapted to the S5's harness.

I wonder if the T2 leather trim was common in japan
No it wasn't. Most of the FC's over here are Japanese imports, and mine is the only one I've seen with leather.

... and HOW COME THEY HAVE REAR SEATS!!!!?!?
All Japanese FC's had rear seats, except for the Infini.

Regardless it is available for S5's... and it seems to work well. however they make it work I really don't think most care... as long as it works.
Right?

Right?
It's not "available" as in you order it from Apexi and it comes in a pretty box with instructions, ready to just drop in. The workshops have to rewire the S5 harness to make it work, and it takes quite a bit of knowledge (and expensive workshop time) to do it right. Just clarifying that.

That's not an FD motor.
Can you tell us why?
You do know that FD motors don't use AFM's, right?

oh I didn't even notice the belts on that engine. I was wondering if it was just an s5 engine. I guess I should have looked harder. like bingoboy said that is crazy what all he has with the s5 afm.

Ted, is there any benefit to running an FD UIM? How hard is it to adapt?

I haven't done any back-to-back testing, but it's a pain in the *** to adapt.

FD UIM needs to be match ported to fit, and it gets really thin in a couple places.
At least one of the front bracket off the FD UIM needs to be cut off.
The FC stock oil filler pipe needs to be modified, or a stock FD short section off the center iron needs to be swapped in.
If you're using stock ECU, you'll need to splice the TPS wires.

thats it? i thought it would be a lot harder than that? i don't think u would see much power with the FD UIM, i think most of the time, its just for looks.

To me it's not worth it.

The FD TB might have slightly larger bores on the TB, but it hasn't been proven to make more power.
It's kinda hard for me to make a good comparison between stock versus FD set-up, cause the two cars that did it are running Haltechs.
We'd need to retune both set-up's to have any helpful data.
I don't want to waste my time doing this myself.
