Why aren't my rear running lights working?

Exclamation Why aren't my rear running lights working?

I have a 1988 se and when i bought the car the rear running lights werer working and i brought the car to a car audio place to get a head unit put in and 3 days later i notice that the rear running lights aren't working should i get on someones *** to pay for some electrical problem or is it common in 7's?

sorry if it sounds dumb, but what do you mean 'rear running lights'? you mean your regular rear lights that should come on when you turn the dial one notch (and obviously stay on for the second notch)? my rear lights were out for awhile; everything else worked: turn signals, brake lights.. i dont want to go too in depth if it isnt the same problem, but my problem was when i turned the **** one click, nothing would happen, but on the second click, my headlights popped up. first click should be parking lights and tail lights. ended up being a burnt wire which is somewhat of a typical problem.

Sure its not all the parking lights, and not just the rear parking lights???

sounds like the same deal, my brake lights work, turn signals work, and hazards. where was that burnt out wire, because its starting to **** me off. And do u think that the new cd player had anything to do with it?

sure if it was wired using the light wire as ground ( a common less experienced installer problem).

so would running a new ground for the running lights fix the problem?
