Who pre-mixes and who does not?
"It doesn't have anything to do with modding. That's incidental"I understand it has nothing to do with modding, but i would rather not bother with mixing, frankly i trust the omp more than i trust myself, my car is a daily driver and i like to deal with it as little as possibel, im not into removing my spare... or my ac, or my power steering, ya know what i mean?
And not all premix oil stays in the consitstant, i had a 5 gallon clear jug of gas that was mixed for my bike, and it noticably sunk to the bottem.. i wasnt aware there is oil that stays in the gas...

Full synthetic with the standard OMP system & small amount of pre-mix. I'm looking for extra insurance against wear, blowning apex seals. It's a J-Spec so I figure that's my top concern. 10W30 cold, 20W50 when it's warm out.

I throw the empty up front (unless I have a passenger sitting there) so that I can grab it when I get home and add it to the 'to be refilled' shelf.
I still have my OMP (planning on yanking it this summer) so it's not like I'm stewed if I miss a premix. It took me a while to get adding the premix into my routine, but now that I've got it I hardly notice doing it, and I definitely don't see it as some annoying extra burden. I'm happy to do it b/c I'm confident of the benefits I'm getting from it. And I do it at every fill-up w/o hardly thinking about it - I haven't missed a dose since last fall (when I first started adding it.)

As a counter-point, do you realize that the stock Mazda oil injectors are notorious for failing?  Are you running on the original oil injectors from the factory?  Try and pull them and do the FSM test, which is to suck and blow alternately ont he vacuum fitting end of the oil injectors.  How many of them fail?  I put money at least 3 out of the 4 will not pass.

That truly scares me... And what iv done *s4* is just disconnected the lever to the TB so it still injects a small amount and then i run 100:1 of the Valvoline.
I think most people around the area are too stupid to know what I'm doing Iv been running pre-mix for a year and have only gotten a comment when buying the stuff.
i posted no.. and now that i've read more of this.. when my UIM comes off to gank the vacuum spider I think the OMP will go along with it... I'd rather spend a few extra bucks in 2 cycle oil or MMO for the reassurance that all is lubricated properly.
moble 1 has been blamed for oil seal falure. other synthetics should be safe. But synthetics don't carry dirt and crap like a petroleum oil so it can leave deposits in the engine. I like a blended oil my self.
If its smoking you probably added too much
Anyways.
I use Castrol Grandprix premix. White bottle, the oil is blue. This thread made me pour some into a gatorade bottle, throw some gas in there and let it sit. Turned the gas blue
Well see how it goes.
