I am getting ready to buy a 90 GTUs and was wondering what you owners have to say about the cars and if you wouldnt mind posting some pictures that would be great too. Thanks

They're basically the same as the other cars, just no options and a 4.3 viscous LSD rear diff and the tII 5th gear. The 90 is the rarest.

They are the rarest of all FCs or even all 7s..
The 1990 are just left over from the 89 and they are in hundreds only

There were about 1000 89's, and anywhere from 25-100 90's. I've got a supercharged '89, don't have pics at the moment though.

They think the 10th AE is the rarest because it's an anniverary edition, but when you compare the numbers, the GTUs was the least produced. Driving the GTUs will have to wait, just got the charger kind of setup and it's snowed, so, it gets to sit until summer now.

Ohhh....alright cool deal. Well I hope it works well when spring rolls around. Why does your location say you live in so many places there?

I travel a lot, depending upon which month it is I'm in a different location. A nice easy way to identify a GTUs (to make sure it's a true GTUs) is to check the door sticker for the 16" rims, i've found a few 'claimed' GTUs (GTUs stickers, manual windows/etc) that were really just the base models built up.

I have a black '89.Had it about 8 years. I like the car handles really well but as of late I think it needs more power so if I continue to keep it I want to go turbo one day.Either a TII conversion or turbocharge the n/a motor that's in it.Also 5th gear isn't the same as a TII it is a little closer. .756 for GTUs and .719 for '89TII according to the FSM. They are also the lightest of the Series 5 cars and have the same suspension as the TII.
