Who has put an S5 IM on an S4?

I was reading a site that walks you through it, and he claims 12 more peak hp and 10 more peak foot Lbs, plus a much flatter torque curve past 4k. I was wondering if there were any other people who had done this and gotten the same results.

I was about to buy an old S4 full intake mani set to have powdercoated while I get set up for mega squirt, but I may just do this instead.

Heres his site:

The s5 intake does flow better than the s5, but i can't really tell you the numbers. I have a s5 intake lim, uim, dynamic chamber, tb im selling.

12hp/10tq sounds like too much.

The S5 N/A only has 12hp/2tq (peak) over the S4 from the factory. If I recall correctly, the S5 shortblock has higher compression rotors, so it should make more power than a S4 shortblock. I don't think you will get 10 foot pounds of torque just by switching S5 manifolds onto your "weaker" S4 block.

Course, I could just be talking out of my butt here.

Edit: Awesome sig!

Well, based on that site it does. Has anyone done it?

I have located a full set of manifolds and I need to decide if I want to do it or not.

I am also wondering about the differences between swapping the manifolds and just porting and polishing an S4 manifold.

I have it also. What I did is I got a center iron to match the lower s5 intake manifold port. I had scrip7 port mine to the gasket size. The VDI still gives you more than a stock s4 intake.

I did the swap, although the engine isn't running yet. I did a bit of research myself and decided it was worth the extra money...There's a dyno graph around here somewhere showing the two curves being nearly identical until the stock curve starts to drop at 7k, and the new curve goes straight up to 8k before dropping...it's 8-12hp IIRC.

I did it for more fun up top

Many threads on this.

I myself have done it and it gives you a good amount of extra power beyond 5000.
