What's the difference.

Now I don't quite understand this difference.
13b
13b-re
13b-rew.
What are the differences of all thesee motors. I have a big project and I want a good 300 plus hps coming off the first build drive it for a while and then rebuild it again. I already have got the company I want to do the tuning. And the main build. But which block works best?? And will put up with what I want.

A good friend of mine blew his turbo 13b at 150k, he then bought a JDM engine.. it was blown.. bought another.. it was blow.. bought another. it was blow. So i wouldnt waste my time, just get a good reputable shop to rebuild it. The only thing good about JDM engines is the little goodies you might get from them, like a BOV, light flywheel etc.

We have had dozens of J-specs come thru our shop. People buy them and have them sent directly to us to rebuild before they install, smart move considering more than half needed a rotor and housing, others had stuck/rusted seals. I have only seen a few that would have run if installed without a rebuild. Even the ones that I hear about that did run didn't last very long.

for rebuilds i suggest rotaryressurection.com.... im about to send my 13bt engine to him to get it rebuilt....dont trust anyone that is selling an engine because it will probubly be blown when you get it....and if it isnt then it will NOT last long..there are a few legit places that sell good engines but not that many

I would say to find out where the nearest rotory shop is, send your engine to them and have them rebuild it/ streetport or whatever.

I bought an s5 jdm turbo motor/trans swap from (osakajdmmotors.com) and the engine had **** compression so I took it to (Banzairacing.net) and had the owner Chris, rebuild/streetport the engine with newer rotor housings as well.

If you keep your motor, you can have it freshly rebuilt with a new seals and stuff, and the most you may have to extend is a few hundred more for better condition rotor housings................instaid of buying a USDED jdm swap that (after sitting in a junk yard) has junked the internals so it would have to be rebuilt anyway.

If I had to do it over, I would get
-13b-RE(which is the Cosmo engine)
-rebuild/streetport(banzairacing.net)
-microtech ecu(or some other,halteck,wolf,ect)
-3'' full exhaust
-a bad *** turbo
-Tial wastegate
-255 walbro pumps
-some ignition
-act street/strip clutch
-some boost controller
-some front mount set-up & BOV

good luck though

-Dustin
