I kinda doubt you not getting a signal is due to the ECU. How did you test the wiring?

we plugged in someones elses ecu and it worked great. the shop working on it tested the wiring. i found a jdm ecu for $230 next day. im still looking for a better price. you can add the 43 minutes to the year or so my car has been down. and i'll add the day or so it will take to get a replacement ecu. i can't wait to drive my car. we just got 4" to 6" of snow. what a great time to breakin a rebuild.

I don't think a JDM ECU will plug into your US harness. Keep your eyes peeled for a US one.

I have an S5 NA ecu.. but that probably won't work on your TII.

EDIT: Do you know how your ECU died? There's typically a good reason... ECU's don't just die on their own. Plugging another ECU in will eventually result in another dead ECU most likely.

Yes it will, all ECU's of the same series are physically identical no matter what engine they ran or what country they were used in. Only the firmware is different.

You should've chucked it out and used a US-spec harness. Trying to use a RHD harness in a LHD car is just creating extra hassle for yourself.

some people say i can use a usdm n370
And those people know what they're talking about. There's absolutely no need to use a J-spec harness and ECU with a J-spec engine. All 13BT's of the same series are practically identical no matter what market they were sold in. The differences are only in emission controls and some minor features like the Japan-only speed limiter. A US-spec ECU of the correct series will run your engine perfectly and be a lot easier to find.
