White smoke at idle....

i searched but didnt come up with anything exactly like mine..

my car smokes kinda bad.. but only at idle.. and it comes and goes.

doesn't smell sweet or anything, just like gas (no cat).. this started right after i had my catback made (2.5" straightpipe) other than the smoke my car runs and operates great.. way too loud though.

any things i can check? really confused as hell.

Did you remove/gut your cat also? Maybe the car is running too rich and some of the fuel is burning up in/after the cat? Those would be my guesses...

The cat is gone, just 2.5" dp and all the way back. It does smell like im running pig rich though, i kept getting comments from people at the track about it.. i guess i should get a new o2 sensor so my a/f gauge would work...

any other ideas?

It could be condensation burning off from your exhaust, but I don't think that would happen every time you start your car...Sounds like it could be the beginnings of a coolant seal leak. You can try to start your car with the radiator cap off (with the rad filled to the top with coolant/water) and see if it pours over the top when you start the car, that would indicate a blown coolant seal.

Um...I think I have the same problem...I always have to disconnect the fuel pump relay when I am cranking it otherwise it will flood! Then, once it is running it has smoke pooring out the tail pipes...after about 5-10 minutes it clears up...I cannot tell if the smoke is blue in tint since I am color deficient... Could it be that I am just running really rich as well?!

IF YOUR CAR IS TURBO YOUR PROBLEM IS THE TURBO REAR OIL SEAL IF NOT PROBABLY BAD ROTOR OIL SEALS BUT YOU NEED TO CHEK THE METERING PUMP FIRST ...

WITHE SMOKE= BURNIG OIL
BLACK SMOKE= TO MUCH GAS

oil will burn a mix of blue/white. Coolant will be a thick white cloud which nobody will have a snowballs chance in hell of being able to see through, and it will smell like a brand new bottle of anti-freeze.

hmm, Smells like gas, warm your car up. then rev it to the redline and let off a few times, if you shoot flames, your running too rich. I call that the Flame test. Do it at night if there is only 1 person.
