Whining when clutch is disengaged

Hey guys. Well heres the problem. Whenever I depress the clutch pedal, I get a high pitched whine from the tranny area. The whine matches the RPM increasing and decreasing with the engine revs. Im pretty sure its the throwout bearing but I thought I would throw it out there to see what everyone has to say. Its a damn annoying sound, and can be really loud. Plus it makes the car sound like a heap lol. Any input would be great. Thanks in advance.

Try and depress the pedal only slightly and see if you have the noise. By doing this, the throwout bearing will be turning, but the clutch assembly and trans will still be turning. If noise, throwout bearing. If no noise, depress the clutch all the way. If noise, pilot bearing. With the pedal to the floor, the disc and trans stops turning, so the pilot bearing then begins it's job. Outer part spinning the same as the flywheel, while the inner race is stationary around the input shaft of the trans.

Either way, If you pull the trans, you'll want to put a pilot bearing and throw-out bearing in.
Not to mention a clutch, depending on condition.
