where are the vin number locations?
i just bought another 7, but it is missing the door sticker vin, edit> the one on the dash, the metal tag on the firewall, and the vin engraved into the firewall is covered up buy a cp tri point bar that is welded to the firewall blocking half of the numbers. i live in northern california and the smog techs check for a vin#. is there anywhere else a vin would be, or could i maybe order a door sticker vin, or something else to prove that the vin matches the car at the dealer?
edit> i bought the car at night so i dint see the welds, plus it was slightly raining, and i got it for $200. i was careless..

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
Depends on the model.
All had the dashboard, firewall plate and firewall stamped VIN. Some models (ones without a factory security system) had each major part also with a VIN sticker (such as doors, Hood, Trunk (on verts) etc.).

ouch.. did you atleast check the VIN to see if it was clear?
2 VINs on the upper half of the firewall, 1 VIN on the dash, 1 VIN sticker on the door jam

i jus cut the bar off from the firwall, the vin stamped on the firewall matches the pink, and i can still reuse the bar after i shave down the welds and just bolt the thing on..

You know what I think I might do for ***** and giggles with my RX when i have it built how i want it? I think im gonna take it into a smog shop and ask them to test it. See what they say when they run it on their machine. Maybe im just odd, but that sounds hillarious to me.

the bar is still good, the old owner welded it like this, he only welded the top part.
the pic is an fd but the way it bolts to the firewall is the same.
so i jus cut the weld and no damage to the firewall and no damage to the bar.
