Oil @ idle should be 30, driving should be @ 60
Temp... I would say NO MORE than half way. Mine sits at about a 1/4 to 1/5 up from the bottom. Most I've seen are about 1/4 to 1/3 up.

idle at 30psi and at 3k rpms you should be at around 57-60 psi...depending on what site you read i guess.

some people's temp gauges go half way and maybe a little bit higher...mine doesnt climb past 1/4th mark unless it is very very hot outside and i'm in traffic.

Agreed.

On the S4s, the temp will normally be below 1/3rd. In the winter, with the cold air behind the dash & the general cold outside air, it may be even lower.

If it gets to halfway on a regular basis without good cause, you might want to check your cooling system and replace the thermostat. If it gets up much past halfway, it's time to either back off or shut down (ideally back off, so the coolant can still circulate). Blasting the heater will help cool things down as well.

My 88 NA doesn't see halfway up the gauge on the street unless I'm stuck in traffic in 90+F weather with the A/C on. The only time I've seen it get up to 2/3rds was after an autocross run in 1st gear with a bit much time spent on the rev limiter (and associated water pump cavitation).
