where is the omp on my car????

Sorry everybody I know there are a lot of threads about the omp and that the car goes into limp mode. But I am in mexico and I havent done alot of work to my car and there isn't a single mechanic that konws the first thing about my car. Right now I am using pre-mix and would like to know what I can do to make so my car doesn't go into limp mode while I wait for the omp to get sent down here.

Thanks for all your help and advice if you can help me

First of all, I'm assuming it's a S5, since you didn't specify, but they're the ones with the Electric OMP.

If the previous owner removed the OMP, they most likely got rid of it. It's supposed to be on the left side of the engine, towards the front (standing in front of the car, looking towards the rear), but it's likely that the PO just blocked off the mounting location, in which case you probably don't have the OMP.

I don't understand why they would do that, though. It's my understanding that even if you go to premix on a S5, you leave the OMP connected and tied out of the way. I'm not an S5 owner, though

To prevent it from going into limp mode you must drop 2 tablets of Viagra with your pre-mix,lol.
Actually the left side of the motor is the driverside and the rightside is the passenger side. Just below the lower radiator hose if it's still there is the omp.
You should be able to trace the wires to it.
If it has a block off plate than you need to get the omp back on the car and just plug it in to prevent limp mode.
Oh by the way what type of tequila do you use for the pre-mix,lol. rx7doctor

Thanks guys for your help finding the omp. I think I found it but not too sure. The part I think is the omp is right below the lower radiator hose like you mentioned and you can see it right behind one of the belts. it has 4 hoses coming out of it and has four bolts on the side of it. If this is the omp I still have one on the car but I didn't see any wires going to it just the four clear hoses. Sorry for being so rotary illiterate and thanks for your patience.

By the way I only use Casadores tequila in my pre-mix (the best Tequila) and I was afraid of jumping my car up from limp mode too fast so I just used half a tablet of Viagra in it lol

I dont know if my car is a S5 or not but it is a '91 RX-7 conv. with no turbo. I am assuming it is a S5.

thanks
