Where to look.

I am having a horrid time trying to find a S5 TII. I know this is common but do any of you TII owners have any words of wisdom?

I am looking on ebay autotrader this site and team fc3s. It all leaves me with an empty heart. Most are too far away for me to travel and look at before I buy.

Just looking for some wisdom from owners.

a friend of mine who has been interested in FC's for quite some time is good at finding T2's, even when there were none listed as being for sale in classifieds etc. i remember him saying once that often FC's are just another car in the minds of their owners. they may not have them for sale but for a reasonable offer they will part with the car, so if you see one parked on the grass in front of someones house, or always in their driveway that you think you might be interested in, go check it out and make them an offer on it .

Dude, finding a TII locally is brutal. I tried for two years, finally an ad came up in the canadian section of this website about a mint S5 T2 for sale a friggin 9 hour drive away from me. I called in sick the next day, and went to pick it up!!! Best decision I ever made.

So if you're willing to pick up a 7 that's this rare, get your drivin shoes on

Best of all, good luck! I'll definitely keep an eye open for ya!

I wasn't even planning on buying an rx-7, all i knew about were the 3rd gens, and i remember seeing one small pic of one a while back and thinking it was ugly. Then when I was looking in the paper like 3 weeks before i'm about to get my liscence, I see one that doesn't have the price or year on it. I showed it to my brother, and he said something along the lines of "they are fast" and I gave the guy a call. Turned out to be a kid selling it, because he just got either an old camaro or firebird, i forget which one, and put some huge *** engine in it, and he needed extra money, so he was selling this rx-7. I looked online and found a few pics, i thought to myself "not a bad looking car". On cardomain.com i found a pic of an 89 TII, and thought it looked really nice with the hood scoop, but I thought it didn't come stock, but the person who owned that car put it on. I went to look at the car, basically the engine was rebuilt only 9k miles ago (HUGE plus), car had a GREAT interior, came with a $200 head unit, and new component speakers in the back, and even only 115k original miles on it. Also when I got there, I found out the car looked 10000x better in person, and that the hood scoop which I thought looked great came on all the turbo models! The ONLY thing wrong with it was lots of paint chipping, but absolutely no rust, and like one dent. The kid was offereing $3800 for it, which I thought was a steal. My dad of course thought he would take a try at getting it for lower, so he mentioned something about the paint being crappy, so it got down to $3300, i'm thinking this guy must be crazy, something has got to be wrong. We take it to a mechanic, and find out the ONLY part wrong was that there was a problem with rear axle bearings. My dad talked the kid down even more to $2900.....yup, $2900.....we bought it right then and there, and its the best decision ever made. Everyone at school loves the car because it looks great, and its not some common thing like a eclipse or mustang like every person in the lot has. When I tell them it cost $2900, they are just in awe. They are even more in awe when I say its an 89'. I'm going to love having this car, even with the expected work that comes along with it.
