Where Does This Connect To?

So Im in the process of changing my intake gaskets (have a vacuum leak) and after removing the "exten" manifold (one between the upper and lower) I found this connector. Its located right by the primary injectors, under the exten manifold. Its a 1 wire round connector with green w/ black stripe wire. I looked everywhere and did not see where it could plug in. Could this be one of those wires that Mazda did not use? (like manual vs auto trans or turbo vs n.a.)

Anyway my car is 89 GTU with 5 speed. Any help will be appreciated.

unused, it is for a water temp switch for the auxiliary fan.

What do you mean by "anyone else." It was already stated what it's for. Do you have an automatic transmission? Do you have a turbo? If not then it's not used because other cars don't have the electric fan which is what the plug is for.

the US a/t cars have an auxiliary fan, triggered from an additional fan switch in the water pump housing. the m/t car has the wire and connector, but doesn't have the fan or switch, so the connector is taped out of the way.

the harness is generic, it was used on automatic and non turbo cars, the dirt in the plug should have made it apparent that it has been sitting since the car was built.
