Question Where did you get your struts? How much$?

I need a set of front struts. Meineke quoted $400.00 on the phone. I'm wondering what they will tack on afterward though. A local shop (Houston) quoted $630.00 if it needs the top mounts replace. $500 if not. I would be tempted to do it myself, but doesn't it require an alignment? Also you need the tool to compress the springs. I have an 88 vert with non adjustable suspension. Thanks

Autozone rents out spring compressors for a deposit which is refunded once its brought back.
Replacing anything in your suspension usually changes the alignment so yes you need to get one done.

Do your own work then drive to the closest alignment shop and have them do that. It will save you unneeded labor charges. I did all four corners on my FC in a night, cake.

I picked up a full set of Tokico HPs on eBay for $260 including shipping. Put them in in about 4hrs on a Saturday and it made all the difference in the world. They work great.
