Where to depressurize the fuel system

Where is the best place to depressurize the fuel system? I will be changing the fuel sock and would rather not do this at the back of the car at the pump. Is there a quick place on the engine to do this maybe around the fuel rail?

Well, the FSM says to access the fuel pump connector located behind the carpeting covering the left side rear shock tower enclosure. With the car running, disconnect the connector and allow the car to stall. I've not had a lot of success with this method and it's a royal PITA to get at the connector. Maybe someone has a better alternative. Using the FSM method, you likely will have some pressure in the lines anyway so when you disconnect the hoses at the pump, hold a rag around the hose/pipe to contain any remaining pressure. Keep a good fire extinguisher handy. Make sure you reconnect the hoses correctly when reinstalling the pump.

I wonder if you could disconnect the circuit opening relay under the dash.

Yes you can do that. Just pull the plug instead of turning the key to turn off your car. Your engine will stall once it runs out of fuel from the fuel rail, fuel filter and fuel lines. Note, there will always be a bit of fuel coming out of the lines when you disconnect them. Have a big rag around, and an old pop bottle to catch some of gasoline from spilling on the floor. Wear some safety goggles too just in case.
