where can I get spring compressors locally?

from say like Advanced Auto, auto zone or maybe Pep Boys? anywhere else?
I need to install front and rear shocks this weekend bad.

I have a compressor to use.

harbor frieght tools, if theres one by your area they are like $9.99, They are cheap, but I only use mine like 2-3 times a year...

just get a big friend and have him stand on the spring while you do the retaining nut.. dont need a spring compressor for removal. just loosen the nut, then get a ratchet and
lay the strut assembly on the ground, pointing at something that you cant hurt.
put your foot on top of the spring, and crank away.. make sure you have a smooth surface cuz youre going to have to go find that nut again.

thats how i do it.

for reinstallation.. small spring compressors are pretty useless, youre more likely to get injured using the single sided one, either shell out and rent the big rack shaped one, or just have a friend or 2 hold the spring down. i saw a dude get a spring in the face when one of those lil single side spring compressors let go.

Go to Autozone. They rent them for free. Just give the deposit and you get that back when you return them. Don't cost a penny..
