Question where can I get a bridgeport done at?

I live in Grants Pass Oregon and I'm planning on getting an S5 TurboII to swap into my '87 FC, and I'd like to get it bridgeported. I'm not sure if I should find a JDM TurboII and get the work done to it or find an engine with a full bridgeport already done.

Well, not real sure yet, I'm just working and saving at the moment... I was aiming for about 4 grand but I kind of decided to go a different direction with what I wanted to put in my car. I'm actually not sure what it would cost to get a bridgeported longblock, but thats something that would be preferable to me, as I can build it up as I want and then drop it in when I'm ready.

well do you plan to build the engine yourself or do you want someone else to do it? as in do you have the rebuild kit, what other mods to you plan to have, what hp/tq range are you wanting, what turbo, you will have to run a standalone ecu...things can get very expensive very fast

I don't have a rebuild kit, so I would like to have on built. And I'm not ready to buy one yet... still doing some saving. I honostly haven't really decided on anything for it, as my original plan was just dropping in a stock TII and then going from there. I'd like to be around 300hp range, something to make a good drag time, but not something that is totally horrible for street driving.

bridgeport is overkill for you then just stick to streetport at the most...bridgeports arent smooth at all for driving on the street regardless of what anyone tells you...fun yes...great for normal driving? naw...not at all

haha, alright. That's what most people say but, can't say I've ever driven a bridgeport, so I wasn't sure.

So I guess that chenges things a little.
What kind of price range would I be looking at to do a swap with a street ported TII? Kind of a dumb question but I'm a little newer with the rotary stuff as far as prices and things go.
Thanks a lot for your help so far.

Regarding price...

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ght=spend+swap

If you start out with non-ported motor you'll obviously have to get it ported, which means sending it off or doing it yourself. Either way you'll have to invest in a soft seal kit to replace the seals that cannot be reused when putting the motor back together, and that'd be in the best case scenario. There's a chance that some parts are out of spec and cannot be reused and you'd just have to get the full rebuild kit.

ok so, I looked up some prices on pineapple racing rebuilds as well as new engine swaps. To rebuild my N/A its $3400, $500 for the trans rebuild plus parts and I already know I need a new clutch, a stage 2 probably to hold the power of porting it, which is $450+ for a street port. Im running a modified stock exhaust (cat was removed and some ghetto rigged mufflers were put on prior to me buying it) so I would need a new exhaust thats a lot more open which is upwards of $700 (racing beat setup looks like it would be about $900)... then all the other things I would need to do that I haven't done price research on such as ecu etc..
Or I could drop a TII in and do that whole conversion... and then do a port on that.
It would end up being about the same price, and I would rather not buy a new engine and convert it.
What I'm really wanting to know is, would it be stupid not to replace my engine? I dont *think* there is anything wrong with the core that a rebuild wouldnt fix, it has about 154k on it now.

Disassemble whatever engine you plan to use. Spec everything out according to the FSM. Then make a decision from there... if your housings and irons are out of spec or almost out of spec you'd be better off spending money on getting new or low mileage ones.

If it costs about the same, seems to me it would be smarter to do the tII swap. You're goal is easily achievable without porting.

i dont have a t2 rear end, and i run insane boost, and neither does aaron cake.

wont break nothing if all you break is traction.

okay so you think the rear end on an n/a car would hold 300+ whp?
what about the transmission on an n/a? if that would hold the power as well I could just scratch getting the t2 trans and not worry about converting it with a custom drive shaft. I want this to hold up to a turboII with a full bridge eventually.
