Where are all the S5's !?

why cant i find any S5 rx7's for sale within a 3 state radius of pennsylvania? everyone wants an arm and a leg for their S4.5 TII swaps and it would be great if i didnt have to spend more than like 4K. and i would prefer to get a car with minimal molestation so i know that everything i do to it is done right.

we finished my dads 79 resto and im done with my 86 350 swap and i have idle hands again!

i want an S5 TII to play with or at least a GTUs since it had the same package and LSD as the TII. as long as the body is reasonably straight and interior is mostly complete (since it will be a street car) i dont much care what it looks like... it doesnt even need to run!!

so i've raped craigslist, and ebay has nothing to offer so i need some help...
anyone have any tips tricks or hints as to where to find the S5 i've been dreaming about? know anyone with one for sale? even a junk yard or shitty car lot you've seen one on? ANYTHING TO HELP!?!?!?!?!
Thanks!

have you checked all the rotary forums classifieds sections? not just this one but other sites too? everyone is going to get taxes back so they aren't selling their cars for bill money anymore and putting money into there cars again.lol

When I was looking to get another FC three years ago, I also looked within about a 250 mile radius of Washington, DC where I live. My only requirements were that it not be full of rust (like the car I was junking) and that it not be heavily modded by a clueless owner. In three months I think I looked at about 20 cars and only three of them met my basic criteria. If you haven't already done so, make sure you're also watching Autotrader. Nice ones show up there sometimes.

Basically, I think it's getting very hard to find a clean FC in the Northeast part of the country anymore. You may have to look longer or be willing to expand your search further south and west. And if you do find a clean one near you, be willing to spend a little more for a really nice one because they aren't as common as they used to be.

Remember, these cars are pretty old now. They were above average in rust prevention for their day, but not totally immune. A lot have probably been junked when engines blew and/or bodies rotted away. Quite a few probably bit the dust during "Cash for Clunkers." And they didn't sell S5s in huge numbers, which is why you'll still find way more S4s. If I recall, there were about 55,000 FCs sold in 1986 alone in America vs. about 35,000 '89-91 cars combined.

No.

S4's are built better anyways.
