I don't know if you guys remember this thread or not ( https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=367351 ) but that was only three months ago that I finnised my project car and now it is down again because of an upgraded turbo, wideband o2 sensor, larger injectors and added resistors, thermal wrap downpipe, upgraded clutch, and soon maybe getting a greddy emanage if the deal goes though. Am I going over board? It seem that I just got my car on the road and it is going to be down again for a long while getting all these upgrades. I'm just wondering if I have a problem or if all of you guys do this? Thanks.

the thing is I was beating most everything on the road as it was, lol. anything I would race I beat the only problem was my clutch was slipping (stock clutch) at high rpm 4.5 to redline but I was still whooping *** but then descided it wasn't fast enough. My sister has had a dream about me getting in a wreck in a sports car ever since we where kids oh well there is just something about speed that has you comming back for me, lol.

better to die doing something you love than sitting in a lounge chair with some carrot puree on the coffee table....

i never stop modding my cars/trucks because it is a hobby and it is what makes it fun to do and the fact that adding newer up to date parts will keep the car up to date.

maybe try focusing on a different direction. by the sounds of it , you have some pretty serious engine mods. why not try focusing on some suspension. I find that suspension mods are fun and that you get more for your money in terms of feeling the difference. and ill stop modding my car when i 1. run out of money, or find something i like better. (<which i cant see happening )

well I do have some suspension mods the only thing I need is some aftermarket springs. I have kyb struts and all the strut tower bars and sway bars and adjustable endlinks......guess I could get polyurithane bushings witch I already had but found out the clunking was from a broken endlink so I sold it. I don't have any body roll at all so I think I'm good there. I've got 17" oz racing 5 starts and nice z rated tires so I'm good on that end as well. I'm just a maniac that can't stop. The problem is I see a good "deal" and I wanna go for it.

lol, I know, I wonder how much power I'm losing with stock clutch. No bite after 4.5k rpm. But all that stuff mentioned up above is going in at one time.

Hmm, when to stop modding. When the motor has blown its sixth time? Tens of thousands of dollars later and only a blown motor to show for it, that's when you reach the stage of choosing the ultimate mod for the Rx7 . . or should I say Px-7, ahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

When the car is on the rugged edge of being streetable, and suspension that allows you to feel every crack in the road, and turbo an off-ramp at 120kph
and soo comfy and fun to drive that driving half accross the country just to run the mountains is a weekend hike

^^^ rofl, nice! I guess everyone is just as nutty as me then. Ok I feel better, lol. No px-7 for me thank you. I'm sticken' with a rotary. Maybe 350-380rwhp is the most I'll go so that I don't have engine blowing problems. Of course these engines will take more you just have to take the time to tune them correctly.

yeah I think once all this is done I should be good for a couple more months I wonder what kind of times I'll be putting down. Depending on that I suppose will determine if I continue modding. oh yeah and the money thing to my fiance just about kills me (makes me sleep on the couch) every time I buy something for the car.

Heard that loud and clear! I just swapped a turbo drivetrain (motor to come!!!!) and just spent more than I budgeted because "while the clutch is out, I might as well get a chromoly flywheel" - my wife is gonna make me sleep on the couch for sure!

Damn, I need to start working a little OT <see avatar>
