Wheels are L & R ?????

Last week I bought another '90 7. This one is a vert and over breakfast coffee this am I was scanning the owner's manual. Now mind you I have owned an RX 7 continuiously since I bought my first new one in '90. Well, Geeze, for the first time I read this:

"The original equipment 15" and 16" aluminum wheels are directional and must be used in the correct positions (right and left). When replacing the tires make sure that the wheels are mounted to the original right or left position" So I ran out to the vert and the GXL and not a single R or L stamp on the wheels anywhere. All '90's have aluminum alloy wheels. What am I missing in all of this?
