Wheels

Hi everyone, I just bought a 1990 GTU model.
I am trying to find out how wide of wheels I can get without rubbing or sticking out past the fenders. I also need to know the offset for any recommended width (if at all possible). The front and rears do not have to be the same width, so if I can use wider wheels in the back than in the front I probably will.

Any help is appreciated.

Well, I know you can go 8" wide with a 38mm offset, and I'm sure with smaller offsets you could go wider.

Ok, we know 8" wide with 38 offset, what about tires for that size rim? What about 9" wide with 30 offset? I never even seen a 30 offset though. Hmm..I want wide in back and looks like 8" is the most I can get so can I get recommended tire sizes? I want 40/17, not sure on the width? Thanks.

I know that if you contact the wheel manufacturer's directly they can tell you what they can make and what they cant make. Usually its just a matter of changing a couple numbers on the CNC machine before they run it. And just cause a specific design doesnt say Mazda doesnt mean they cant plug in out bolt pattern. Try finding a cool rim for a 6 lug dodge dakota and you'll understand.
