Question Wheel Sizing

Do you guys think on a 16x7", +40, or 45mm offset would be better? Thanks

And is it possible to fit 225's on that? Would you guys recommend 225 for better handling characteristics, ive heard they may be too wide Also what aspect ratio? Thanks

Nismo...you should know better bro...this sucka should go in the wheel/suspension section. BUT...to answer your question, I think that 225 may be a little much. My 17X8 front tires are 235, which is only 10 mm smaller than the 225...and you want to use a smaller rim...might not fit.

I think that 38+ or 40+ should do(I don't remember what offset I used on my FC, but my FD is 38+ I believe).

That mostly depends on the tire and it's rim width range. The rim width range tells you just how big or small of a rim you can mount the tire to. if it's just going to fit doesn't always mean it's a good idea too do so. check out this specs page from TireRack for the Dunlop SP9000 (it's just an example) and you can see what i mean.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...=SP+Sport+9000

assuming you are going to choose a 225/50 16" tire your 16x7" rims would be fine because the measured rim width is 7".

On the other hand i could put a set of 205/60 14" on my 14x5.5" phone dial rims, but that's probably not a very good idea, and there are very few tires 205 tires that have a rim width range of 5.5". here, is another example for the 205/60 14"

Also, the offset is 40mm for an FC.

40 is the stock offset, although I have found offsets of both 35 and 38 to look and work well in the 16x7 -225/50-16 size as well.

35 tends to move the rim out to being much more flush with the fenders.

Jspec- oh yea, I didnt even realize we had that section

Thanks for the help guys I checked out tire rack and I figured out what you meant. So I guess I should be taking measured rim width and rim width range into consideration when going with a tire.

If your gonna run 16's just run the stok offsets. 225's fit the front just fine that way. and you cna put at least 275's out back (but not on stock rims) with the heat shields removed.
