Wheel noise, bearing? Front ? what about the Rear?

I have this really annoying noise, its from one of the wheels but Im not positive which one. when I lift the car up and spin it with my hands, the noise is gone.

Anyway was reading up Mazdatrix About the wheel noise

http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/frontbrg.htm

Hmm, seems like this is doable. but I did a search and no one seems to have pictures to show how to do this (picture(s) worth a thousand words), Mazdatrix's pics are too small.

and ... what about the rear ?

I would drive it while someone listens to your car to determine exactly where it is coming from.

Don't follow Mazdatrix's instructions to remove the front bearing races. It is way more work then required and you will probably damage the hubs.

Use the method I outlined in this thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=906757

As for the rear bearings, you can probably remove the old ones yourself if you heat the hub in an oven to 300 degrees or so. However this will damage any rubber bushings so if you still have you DTSS working, take them to a machine shop and have them press out the old bearings. They can then press in the new ones. Should cost about $100.

hmm ... ok.

I have been thinking Mazdatrix's method, but the more I think about it, I more I said to myself "this sound like if I grind it wrong Im going to **** everything up"

and I dont have a welder ...

I already ordered all the inner/outer bearings and races from Amazon and Advance Auto.

Gonna try to take it out first and see what I can/will do.

might end up bringing it to a shop to get it replace. at least if they **** it up they're finding me another hub.

thx for the advise

You can always just go to the junk yard or hit the classifieds and buy a hub for ten bucks. Sure you risk the bearing blowing out again but it is a cheap fix.

Did that on two of my FCs, couple years later both bearings are still fine.
