wheel hop

i was up at the berlin turnpike tonite, and i raced a honda civic thinkin he was the ****. i kept my car at around 4000 rpm for the hole shot. the light turned green and i dumped the clutch and i got some pretty bad wheel hop. i just wanna know, should i start out at a lower rpm, or a higher rpm?

try slipping the clutch instead.

when reving high, release the clutch slightly until it starts to engage. when the light turns green release more and give more gas.

i launch at 4k rpm at the auto x track with out wheel hop. how old are your shocks? if they are old that might be the cause. are your engine and tranny mounts good? ect ect. i just dont think your car should be doing that unless something is wrong.
