Wheel bearings whirring

Hey guys I'll get straight to the point,my car has been making the awful noise that indicates my wheel bearings are pooped on the highway and seeing as I'm doing my coilovers, sway bars and bushings I figured I might as well do my bearings all at the same time. For the most part me and my buddy will be doing all of the forementioned things,I'm just a little concerned about doing the bearings..Do I need a press to do them, and when I went to mazda for a quote on the bearings the kid working at the parts counter told me I'd be able to buy just the bearings for the rear but I'd have to replace both front hubs in order to replace those..That sounds a little weird and I'm really not incline to buy them as they quoted me at just under a g each!

Yes, you will need a press.

Front bearing is a PITA to do, but it's doable.

rear is much easier to me.

No, you don't need to buy a new hub.

Give Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda a call at 888 533 3400. He owns two FDs, and has owned many FCs in the past. He'll be sure to get you the right part, and at a great price

Mazdatrix was so kind as to give us a writeup for the fronts. I'll be doing mine soon, too.

mazdatrix has a tutorial on how to modify your front hubs so that you can replace the bearings. the hubs weren't originally designed for bearing replacement.
