Wheel bearings: Bad or not?

Checking out the rear wheel bearings on the RX7...

The rear right checks out no problem, the rear left I'm a bit worried about. With the car on the ground, I can grab the top of the rear-left tire and shake back and fourth...it will clunk. When I lift the car in the air and grab the top and bottom, there is absolutely no movement at all.

Any thoughts? Normally when I've had wheel bearings go bad, you can tell 100% with the car in the air, but this just doesn't seem right.

Have you checked to see if you have any bad bushings or broken or loose suspension components?

The little dogbones on the rear control arm can cause this too. when they go bad, you can see them move when you shake the wheel. This happened to me.

I have had issues with this before.. Make sure the CV joint bolt is TIGHT or it will let the bearing slop and it will wear faster... Also check the three bolts Holding the Hub on and make sure those are not coming loose..

Geeze, that's not bad at all.

I put the car up on jack stands last night, I'll be checking to make sure everything is correct over the next week.
