wheel bearings?

can anyone tell me if blowing a wheel bearing is common?.... because mine just suddenly went and there wasnt ne signs if u will .. it just one day started wooshing if u will lol ... and it sounds like ew

Im not sure if its common or not but goo dluck on putting a new one in, mazda was kind enough to give is FC owners NO way of removign the races out of the aluminum hub. and buying a new one, at least a 4 lug hub her ein the states from mazda is about $600

mazdatrix i beleive has the writeup for removing the race and replacing it. You can use the old one if it doesnt look to worn. When mine went, it completely trashed the spindle and such. I would recommend replacing all wheel bearings, if your car has some high milage, or you do alot of racing. here is the mazdatrix write up http://mazdatrix.com/faq/frontbrg.htm
