Whats It Worth...

Hello guys... I am looking at another RX-7. This time its an 88 coupe. The guy says it runs...However he does not have a key to it...so i am unble to start it. The body is toast... Someone tried to pry the doors open...I guess to steal the car...or something so the top of the car is all banged up.... Left front fender...Something hit it...right rear...something hit it... no two wheels match.... interior just plan sucks... No radio. Stock fan is removed...electric one is installed on a thermostat. No powersteering pump... Did I mention the engine is covered in corrosion or that the clutch pedal is stuck down???

All and all... its my project for my new racecar... I offered him $200 for the car... His response was it was worth at least $1,200... Someone please...correct me if I am wrong and this car is worth $1,200...

P.S... Anyone know of a car...Engine...Tranny...$200-400?

If the body is that bad and sounds like the rest of the car is that bad as well. If he can't even start it to show that it runs, I would say not more than $200. He is nuts for asking $1200 for a car that is at best, poor condition, that he can't prove runs.

Let him part it himself for that price. Even if the engine and tranny is in great shape its still not worth that.

Thanks guys... Just wanted to make sure that there was something I was missing... Ohh well... bummer... I was hoping to start stripping... (well...Not me personally...)

Stripping the car that is... The weather has been like 65-70 degrees during the day...perfect for ripping out interior and engines!!
