What springs, shocks/struts, wheels and size tires are on the car?

My GTU came with lowering springs, aftermarket shocks, aftermarket wheels and non-stock tire sizes. As a result it sits very low compared to a stock RX7.

My GXL with stock shocks and springs sits fairly high, even with undersized tires (not intentional, don't ask).

I could see the possibility of a spring getting shorter over time, but not longer. Even getting shorter seems iffy. Your car or his had the springs replaced. Or you each have different sized wheels.
