Whats the shelf life of an S5 engine?

Hey guys,
I could've sworn I have seen a thread on this but I could'nt find it.

I'm looking at buying an '88 with a new S5 motor and turbo however its been sitting for a while (The engine was bolted in, but not hooked up or run at all. Still has the plugs in the ports and everything.) and who knows how long at the shop the motor was purchased from it was sitting as well..

Anyone have any idea's?

Thanks,
CDM

Depends on how weathered it has been. If the engine is sitting in the car out of the elements it should be perfectly fine.

This wouldn't happen to be the black car that keeps on dropping in price on NNJ craigslist... would it?

I'd be more concerned about hacked up wiring and vacuum routing jobs. That's a big issue on buying somebody else's swap, whether it's an Rx-7 or anything else (you should see how many shitty SR20 swaps are out there).
