You could try to lower the overall temp. of the car, bigger/better oil cooler. Alluminum radiator, electric fan upgrade. Upgrade the clutch, change the pulleys, get an electronic ignition control module. Get lighter rims and tires. Depends on how far you want to go?

Oil cooler: you don't need to do this unless you have a peripheral port or run at 11 teen thousand RPMs the stock cooler is sufficient for anything you could throw at it.
Aluminum radiator would be a good idea as ours tend to fall apart
electric fan upgrade??? ask most people that know and most will tell you that the stock fann in the BEST and the one that pulls the most air. and electric fan is just a better option to buying a new clutch fan.
upgrade clutch is a good upgrade specially if your old one is already starting to slip.
Underdrive pullies are not really ment to be used in normal cars since they slow down the water pump and alternator and will in turn reduce the amount of work they do under normal driving conditions(making the car run warmer and straining the charging system)
ignition upgrades make more power.
lighter wheels and better tires is a good way to spend cash.(michellin: Because a lot is riding on your tires )

To the original poster you can still do many things to your car to make it perform better: headers, hi-flow cats, lightened flywheel, PR racing sleeve, intake porting, cold air box, remove power sterring, remove a/c and heater, gut the interior, etc.

Probably among the cheapest and (relatively) easiest things to do would be port-matching/porting intake, PR racing sleeves (as mentioned above), and removing weight, especially emissions if legal
