Whats this humming almost fart like sound that i hear when i shut my car off?

As the title says i noticed that after a decently long drive when i pull into the garage and shut it off i hear a hum noise almost like a distant fart sound and i feel the vibration in the steering wheel. It lasts for mabe 15 seconds. Doesnt bother me but i was curious as to what this was or if this was a problem i need to repair? The harder i drive teh car the louder this noise is. Dont know if that makes a difference or not though. This noise isnt loud or anything it just sounds like say a fuel pump priming or something but does so after a drive and the ignition is cut off. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks, Karson

Every FC I've owned did the same thing. When fuel and ignition are cut off, engine doesn't come to an immediate stop. It spins a little until frictional and other forces cause it to stop spinning. During this "phase", you still have intake, compression, exhaust cycles occuring etc..... What you are hearing is air being compressed and pushed (pumped out the exhaust), thus the burp/fart air sound.
