what's a good oil for low compression?
Hey, I tried searching the archives but couldn't find anything. I recently ran a compression test on my 13b and got the numbers back for 70psi in the rear and 80psi in the front. I got it tested because it was having problems hot starting.
The thing is, when summer came I changed the oil back to a summer oil. Suddenly my car had no problems starting up, it used to happen once every month sometimes twice, where i would hear the engine crank, but it wouldn't fire up. Once I switched oils, over a span of 5 months it only happened ONCE.
Would this have anything to do with the thickness of the oil? If so, should I stick with the summer oil even though winter is coming? What do you guys think? Any help would be appreciated

more than likely it was just a coincidence, the oil from the crankcase rarely gathers in the engine in enough quantity after shut down to do anything in assisting compression for re-starts, even premixing hardly makes any noticable difference. you likely have a combination of low compression, slow cranking speed and dirty fuel injectors.. all of which need attention, there is no patch fix for low compression.
