What's the best location for a water temp guage sensor? (Not stock Location)

Yeah her in AZ we watch coolant temps like our lives depended on it.

I constantly glance over to my oil pressure and coolant temp.

I've been thinking of tapping the location right after the Tstat but before the coolant fill location(s4)(It's already agot a hole that you can push through and tap.
Yes it will not show that your engine is cooking if your Tstat goes out but I've replaced mine a year ago and don't expect it to go out soon. I'll also have the stock sensor connected so I'll still see if it creeps up while the other doesn't.

I tapped mine near the firewall where the coolant line comes from the TB location. Took me 15 minutes about 3 years ago. works great.

At this point, I may try to adapt to the stock sender area, and see what kind of temp readings I get there.
