Whats the best Hwy mileage recorded by a 6port NA FC?

I did a search but found nothing other than mileage issues threads. I know what the EPA rated FC mileage is, but I never saw a thread that recorded the highest hwy mileage obtained after been modified and tuned.

My reason for asking is that I'm going to get my NA RX8 tuned with a microtech, and I want to know what I can expect. My current mileage is about 16city and 24 hwy with the A/C and going 70mph. I've gotten almost 27 on the hwy with no A/C at 70mph. I'd really like to get 28mpg or so consistently on the hwy, but I need a frame of reference.

The 6port NA FC is the closest cousin to my car, hence my question.

the 2nd gen N/A fc's will most likely not equal the Renesis in terms of gas mileage.

wow you must be a pretty conservative driver, i just got rid or my 05 rx8 and i was getting anywhere from 10-13mpg during "sprited" driving out near napa, on the freeway close to 20mpg, but on average around town ya 13mpg. and that was completely stock and later i had the K&n typhoon version 2.

I consistently was around 29mpg in my GTUs, a couple of times through Ohio I was around 32.

Best I ever got in an N/A 6 port was 27mpg on my trip from seattle to L.A. That was at 90-95mph the who time.... right before the secondaries kicked in.

ya huge mileage differences between 7's and 8's, i wish my 8 had a regular 13b rather than the stupid renesis gas hog. the only mods worth doing for any sort of horsepower on a 8 is putting a turbo on it, other than that theres no benefits to exhaust or intake.

The Renesis engine is different enough (intake, ports, side exhaust ports, more advanced intake timing) that I'm not sure FC numbers will be of much value.

I know there are a few people running into the 30s fuel economy-wise, but they're generally running carefully built & ported S5 NA rotors in turbo engines, lean-burning at cruise, etc.

I don't baby my car, but I don't redline every shift either. City mileage is all related to your foot, which is why its hard to compare, but hwy mileage is something that I feel I could use as a starting point.

The Resensis gets a bad rap mileage wise because of the early stupid rich flashes and the subsequent fouling of the plugs. Combine that with cat damage in some cases due to the stupid rich condition, and you can see the mileage issues. I don't cruise much above 70, I don't drive far enough to have it make a real difference in terms of time or the cost of a ticket. Even honda get crappy mileage over 70mph

I'm going to lean my cruise out as much as possible, right now its about 14.7-14.8 stock, hopefully i can get it to 15.5 or so and still be stable. The 13B's seem to have the ability to run leaner at cruise than the Renesis for some reason.
