Maybe not in your part of Texas, but they sure as hell have it in Dallas, Houston, and Austin.

I recieved a $33,100 fine in the mail for failure to comply with motor vehicle emissions standards.

EDIT: In Houston, they have these really nifty sensor units that they setup at entrances to freeways. If your emission are not in spec, you recieve a warning in the mail, then a fine.

FWIW mine was a typo, but it was funny.

Yeah, I heard about that. They can't send you a ticket if you're from an area that doesn't have emission testing right?

Bone stock except for K&N Filter I'm gonna do a tune up some time soon. I've got new plugs, wires, and fuel filter. I've already adjusted the TPS, checked the Air pump and the BAC... Any suggestions?

Edit: I also already replaced the exhaust with stock exhaust off a 91 n/a (cats were in great condition) and I installed a new O2 sensor.

Might be off subject, but here in MO, they only test in the counties around STL and KC. Licensing through second addresses and out-state relatives is common.

Two state legislaters are trying to change the way it's done. They want TO EXEMPT ALL CARS MADE BEFORE 1995(non OBD II)! YES! I am a non-religous person but have considered praying, since I live in one of the affected counties.

May actually be the other way around-here in NYC they will test all '96 and up through the OBD II port, no need to drive on the rollers. Still will test '95 and older going back to 26 year old cars, those are exempt here.
