What You Guys Think???

I currently don't own a RX-7 but I am looking into one. I want to get your reaction to this model and tel me if there is any common problems that it may have. I am looking to build up the motor quite a bit. Modz like BOV, Downpipe, Turbo Timer, ect.

How much power can these motors handle?? The car I am looking to buy is a 1988 RX-7 Turbo 10th Edition. He is asking $2000 obo. This is CDN prices cause I am in ontario.

I figure I got 3500 so with what ever might be wrong with it I could use the extra to supe it up. If anyone of you guys who has this exact car can give me the lowdown on em that would be great.

I don't want to get myself in a pile of **** with this car. I am looking to make some nice power from it. I know they are stock 182 Hp, and the CW = 2800lbs. I currently have a 300ZX only at 170 Hp, 3600lbs NO TURBO!

A list of al the common problems would be best.

TY IN ADVANCED!!!

Sorry to start off being a bit of a jerk-

Let me try again.

Welcome to the forum- sorry to be the first to flame on you, but there is a reason the FAQ's and sticky's are there. If you search the forum and read the FAQ's, a TON of your info will be there.

Happy hunting- and excellent choice for first 7 to own- I must admit I am a tad jealous.....

well I bought my first car which was the 300zx about 2 years ago and found out very quick that I was limited when it came to modding it. Not simply because it was a 300zx but also because it had no turbo. Besides the car has a curb weight of 3600+ lbs with only a 165 Hp stock.

So now knowing that I want to gain some serious power and I don't want no heavy *** car I know exactly what to look for. And I think the 1988 AE is exactly what my need for speed has been calling for.

Just as long as the guy that wants to buy my Z, still continues to want it then it looks like in the very near future i will own my rx7. Not to mention I will be making a extra 2000$ CDN which i can immidatly put into the rx7 to make it a top noch car.

Dude, if this is Amkard's car, you'd better call him soon to find out, because from what he told me its already sold...

AE's for $2000 don't come around too often.

If he's asking $2k CDN the motor is gone or going. FCs have been going to way too much the last year or so. Normally you don't see AE's going for so little.

I think you'll be quiet happy with a good TII, but you've got to know what you're getting into.
