what is wrong with my battery
ok so I went and bought a new battery because my old one was dead when I bought the car. so I put the new battery in and the car started fine twice the same day.so I put the car away for winter and to do some minor repaires and when I went to start the car the battery was dead so I got a volt meater out and tested the battery it was at 1.6 volts. so I read some stuff on this site that I should start pulling some fuses and when I pulled the EGI COMP fuse the battery started going up. so I put that fuse back in and pulled the next one the EGI INJ. and the battery started going back up. but when I pulled some others the batterys volts did not change. so is there a drain in those circuits or is it some thing else. or chould it be the altenator or starter solenoid.

well in any car if u leave it not running over winter the battery will drain.. the clock and some otehr components still run off battery. if u leave the car over winter ive heard u can take off the battery cables so tht way it wont drain

However, it could be that the new battery was not fully charged when you bought it. Before you go to the trouble of tracking down a drain, fully charge the battery and let the car sit for a few days. That will verify that the problem is a drain on the battery and not a battery that was not fully charged when you bought it. For info on finding an unusually high drain on the battery, do a seach of the forum. This topic has been discussed many times before and there are some good suggestions on how to do that.

If the battery has a good charge, disconnect one of the battery cables while it's dark & if there is voltage use as small as a dome light lite (very small voltage used) there will be a spark when you take the cable off or on. Clean the battery cables. If you don't have a battery charger go buy one (30-40 bucks) at Sears because in your life time you'll need one.
