What wire route did you follow when you relocated your battery?

Question What wire route did you follow when you relocated your battery?

I'm ready to relocate my battery to the passengerside rear bin. I'm looking for suggestions to your guys route. I was thinking of having the wires follow the tunnel (extending down the car beside the transmission) and looping It through the water release valve (driverside bin) and right to the passengerside). What do you think? Any suggestions?

I have relocated my battery to the passenger storage bin. I ran 0 gauge wire into the firewall near the steering wheel under the carpet along the driver side door sill, and then had the wire cross over under the storage bin over to the passenger side. I kept it in the cabin to prevent deterioration of the wire from dirt, exhaust heat etc...

I have a question also. For those who relocated the battery, did you just ground it in close proximity of the battery, to the chassis or floorpanels? Or did you run a while somewhere else for ground?

Go engine bay to interior through the firewall hole up behind your foot pedals, then behind your trim piece by the fuse panel and under the rocker panel for a clean, well protected install. Don't drag your cable across that firewall hole as you can scrap off the insulation. Make sure that the cable is isolated from rattling or rubbing on any metal edges because over time on the road you can get damage.

Also, I assume you're getting a sealed Optima battery, yes? You could have some fitment issues with the posts of the battery being too tall in the storage bin. I was re-doing my whole back floor area to make it one level place and had to turn the battery sideways. This is okay, according to the Optima people, but you will want to find an aftermarket battery tray and fab it into the storage bin space so that the battery has something solid to be anchored to. If the battery bangs around, you're going to lose it way sooner.

Mine was grounded into the chassis/body near the storage bin. HOWEVER: I am about to redo my whole charging system because I have a phantom electrical drain that could be related to how mine was set up.

4 gauge stinger wire through the firewall, driver's side door sill, under bins(where they used to be) to an aluminum box in back corner. i would've put it in my passenger side bin, but i took them out cause that's where my subs are going to go.
