What wire is this?

Hey guys, I'm trying to change the o rings for my oil filter pedestal and noticed this wire that wasn't bolted on to anything. Is this a ground wire or what is it? Also where is it supposed to bolt to? Thanks for the help and for the time being I'll go back to scraping my arms trying to get that damn pedestal off.

that ring connector on the small square black box gets bolted to the one bolt on the clutch slave cylinder on the tranny..i think its some type of ground device that also reduces electronic interferance with the radio and other components. put it on before you replace the oil filter..its a bitch to get to when the filter is on..

Hmm..is that where it's hooked up on yours? I'd like to get a more definite answer since it was such a bitch to get the pedestal off.

Would it be okay to bolt it to one of the nuts on the pedestal?

That is the condenser for the oil pressure sender and yes it mounts under one of the slave cylinder mount bolt heads.

For reference: Item # 66-991B-FB01 seen here: http://www.mazdatrix.com/boil2.htm

Thanks guys, I went ahead and did that. Just out of curiosity, what happens when it's not connected? I have no idea how long that has been like that so hope there isn't any problems.
