i pulled my tank today cuz i have rusty, watery gas in the tank.. i dropped the tank and i found a hose with a broken peice of plastic and the other end bolted to the tank,, im going to try and enclose a pic. someone please help, also where can i get another one ????

btw what did i break ??????

well i pryed it out . looks like a vent ,, probobly for evap .. but can someone confirm this ??? can i plug this thing up and call it a day or can i call mazda and get this peice

yeah its a vent of some sort . i tried to epoxy it .. it works somewhat , but i would rather replace it

 

humm. just take it off and take it to the dealership and tell them where it on the tank its located. if its a good mechanic he'll know what it is.

 

dealership and good mechanic shoudlnt be in the same sentence

 

i was gonna order online or over the phone,, the closest dealer to me is almost 30 mins away on the highway .. its a pain in the *** to drive that far just to get told,,, :ummmmm we dont have it but we can order it,, it will be here in about a month and a half "

 

It's the connection for the line that goes to the charcoal canister via the check-and-cut valve. if your evaporative emissions system is still connected you'll need to replace it. Definitely don't cap it.
