What Thermostat do you use?

I have had 3 thermostats not working. They all were Mazda brand but I noticed niether had the jiggle pin. I brought them back and the guy said they no longer sell thermostats for RX7. He didnt mention that when I kept buying them.

I read the archieve and they talk about Stant, but it indicates, at least the way I understand, they dont work well either.

Anyone have a good part number???

I bought a thermostat from one of my "mazda dealers" and installed it without inspecting it. Within a week, the cooling system always maintained a different temperature. Pulled it off and noticed it was "USA Industries" brand. (Worse car equipment ever IMHO). Bought from Mazdatrix and never had a problem.

trust me I had cooling problems for months and the problem was the thermostat. DO NOT USE STANT.

use the OEM or one that has a air bleeder pin hole on the outer rim.

it took me 2 months to figure this out just saving you the headache.

Mazdatrix says they do not have OEM but STANT. The ones I did buy at the Mazda dealer were 8AF-15-171-9U. This is the number I used for years. None worked. No jiggle pin.
